Cacao Date Recipe

One of my favorite recipes: CUSCO CACAO DATE!

Blending a fresh date in hot water with cacao makes magic. It's a healthy natural way of sweetening you cacao, but it especially creates a unique texture. The taste itself is amazing and the mouthfeel of this thicker cacao drink is really special. You can do this with all our cacaos, but the Cusco cacao has this delicious fruity tones that come out even more. But please try all of them because it's just too good.

Why does this happen?

The soluble fibers (mostly pectine) dissolve and form a gel like matrix, trapping the rest of the cacao drink in a tick texture.

Ingredients

  • 15-20gr cacao per drink > you can use all our cacaos, but the Cusco is our favorite for this recipe.
  • Small or 1/2 medjoul date
  • 100ml hot water °80C
  • Optional cinnamon or other spices

How to make

  1. Add all the ingredients in a nutribullet or strong blender (take care with hot water in closed blenders as it builds op pressure).
  2. Blend long enough so that the date dissolves well into the whole drink.
  3. Serve in your favorite cup and enjoy!
