This cacao grows organically in the jungle of Cusco. It is the rare chuncho variety, native to Peru. The cacao beans are remarkably small with a delicate, soft and fruity flavor. The cacao is hand-selected and minimally processed with care in every step. The fine flavor quality of this cacao comes out in a frothy cacao drink with its fruity tones and warm aroma.

The knowledge of growing cacao is passed down from generation to generation. The family farm lies in the Quelloúno Valley, a rich natural area with a high biodiversity of trees, plants, birds and animals like the blue macaw, armadillo, squirrels and monkeys. It borders on protected natural parks and we are grateful that the cacao is grown in a responsible manner and in harmony with nature.

A fun fact is that there are little differences within the chuncho variety and these cacao beans are locally known as ‘señoritas’. They are even smaller than other chuncho cacaos. These varieties were first cultivated by the Machiguenga people in Peru a long time ago.

Fast delivery and great quality as always

I'm very happy with their cacao.
It's pure, the Cusco is soft but speaks greatly to your heart and system. Both energetically and physically.
I'm going to do a ceremony with it soon.
Unfortunately I couldn't buy more this time and it is already sold out (at least the kilograms) after a month or two. But totally worth it!!

Great taste & low bitterness

Love this product: comfortable for precise dosing format of flakes, the great design package has clear and practical instructions on how to prepare it, reasonably priced. The 1kg package came vacuumed to minimize oxidation on the way, I guess. We enjoy it a lot with water, so do not try plant-based milk option yet. We have traveled to Cusco in 2019, so it nice to get cacao from that area and some memories from that trip.
