DELICIOUSLY SPICED CACAO
There is no one single recipe for the infamous Masala (literally: mix of spices) Chaï (tea), a drink that is enjoyed widely in India & Pakistan.
It is a piece of a culture on its own, just like cacao is in another part of the world. Being dedicated fans to both, we like to share this delicious recipe. The taste is so good and we enjoy the process of making it. ♡
The ingredients for 2 cups:
⬖ 500ml of plant-based milk (we use oat here)
⬖ 1 tsp of cinnamon powder
⬖ A pinch of ginger
⬖ 3 cloves
⬖ 1/2 tsp of nutmeg powder
⬖ 1/2 tsp of cardamom seeds
⬖ 3 tbs of cacao flakes
⬖ optional 2 tbs of sweetener (muscovado sugar, honey, agave...)
Two easy steps to make it:
1. Warm up the milk without boiling, add all the spices, let infuse for 15min and filter it (crush the seeds and cloves for more flavor!)
2. Warm up again if needed and add the cacao and optionally your favourite sweetener. Mix and serve into a frothy drink!
