Ritual

We try to make cacao drinks and its benefits easily accessible in a casual setting. Yet there is something about inviting more ritual in our daily life. Preparing a cacao drink is like a little ritual that you can devote to your goals. Just like drinking cacao with an intention can be very powerful. Rituals prepare our mind in a meditative way that can improve results as well.

Why does cacao work

There are different active ingredients like theobromine that gives energy and focus, but doesn’t have the peak energy and dip like caffeine. Cacao positively affects various neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline, anandamide and phenylethylamine, works against stress and is a natural antidepressant. Also cacao is healthy because of the high content of antioxidants and minerals like magnesium that our brain needs to function well. Read more on our health & happiness page.

How we work

Most of our inspiration comes from traditional uses in Mayan and Aztec cultures, which we combine with research and own experiences. We personally select and directly import cacao from beautiful origins and build long lasting relationships with farmers. Agroforestry and organic farming are our standard to support ecosystems and biodiversity.

Sidenotes:

  • For an early night sleep, don’t drink cacao late in the evening.

  • Drink enough water as cacao is slightly dehydrating. In general, always drink enough water ;-).
